Carrer Parlament has yet another café gem, and while the (now) three of them surely don’t want to be compared to one another, we can’t ignore the fact that a street that two years ago had naught is now blessed with three hangouts serving delicious treats to young parents and hungover hipsters while blanketing all in warm design and communal-table buen rollo. Tarannà’s (“a usual mood”) owner Josechu created a warm café atmosphere with a 0-Kilometer (Km0) philosophy. Bread is from Baluard (yes!). Juices thanks to Cal Valls. Eco yogurts (with fruit or honey or muesli) from La Selva. Fruit and vegetables (like the oven roasted ones on a sandwich with goat cheese and arugula for 4,80 Euros) are bought from stands at la Boquería, grown in el Maresme, o eso dicen. And the coffee you’ll be drinking is locally roasted by Barcelona company, Cafés el Magnífico, who appear to be both fair trade and eco-invested. Awesome.
